Laowa, the Chinese powerhouse for novel macro designs, brought its 100mm f/2.8 2:1 macro lens to the Pentax K mount. It also started producing a version for EF mount that has a stepless aperture for video shooters.

Photographers admire it for its high magnification, intense sharpness and seemingly complete lack of chromatic aberration. As a manual lens, run-and-gun macro shooters find it more difficult to use, however. For studio photographers and focus stackers, it is often the best option, as the big camera manufacturing brands have yet to launch new mirrorless versions of macro flagships.
