Sony to Send 24-70 and 70-200 to Glue Factory, Design New Ones

SonyAlphaRumors.com reports that a single source indicated the current f/2.8 GM zoom lenses will be end-of-lifed this year, with newer, smaller equivalents introduced.

Tamron has been running image quality-for-price and lens size circles around Sony with its most recent set of f/2.8 zooms. The current G Master stable of the 24-70 and 70-200 are decent lenses, but suffer from lesser build quality than those of the DSLR brands and have been both expensive, and extremely expensive to fix.
