It’s official: the C70 that everyone already anticipated due to innumerable leaks is now out, and reportedly available for sale in November for $5,499.
Aside from putting out an RF mount cinema camera, the big news this morning is that the EF-RF 0.71x converter and speed booster is real. This allows RF users to use EF lenses at the same 35mm-equivalent focal lengths, despite the smaller sensor inside the C70, which sports a Super35 sensor. It accomplishes this with an optical arrangement effectively correcting for the crop factor by concentrating the image circle of a lens on the smaller sensor area and in the process making the lenses one stop faster in the process.
