Japanese news site Nikkei ran the numbers on DSLR and mirrorless marketshare, showing Sony inexorably hoovering up a bigger piece of the pie. The A7c is thought to be a major mover going forward. Canon’s future share is shown to be quite dependent on its ability to push the 4.16 million DSLR cameras it sold in 2019 to its RF line, as it sold 940,000 mirrorless cameras in that year. As the camera behemoth now appears not to be producing any new EF lenses, it appears a big haul to move 80 percent of its current customer base from one system to the next.
