MAP Camera, a very prominent Japanese camera retailer, published its ranked camera sales, showing the Sony A7C in top position next to the A7S III. Next came the Canon R5 and R6, both of which have been hard to come by, as pre-orders are still being fulfilled from their July launch in some places.
With recent movement in Canon supply, next month’s figures may better reflect consumer demand moving into the holiday season without temporary influences, such as new product launches and supply issues. That is not to say that the Canon cameras will necessarily beat the new Sony options.
Most interesting is the fact that no other Canon camera – mirrorless or not – appears on the list; not even the budget-minded RP. The other entrants are, in order, The Panasonic S5; Sony A7 III; Fuji X-T4; Sony ZV-1; DJI Pocket 2; and the Sony A6400.
