Tamron, which has a bit of a better track record of actually manufacturing its patent designs, rather than stockpiling them, patented an 85mm f/2.8 design along with a pair of 125mm designs that could wind up being as bonkers as an f/1.8 or a more run-of-the mill f/4. They also threw in a compromise f/2.8 design of that focal length.
The designs appear relatively simple in number of elements and groups, consistent with their cheap and cheerful line they’ve been fleshing out to date.
