Nikon Z7 II Gets ProRes Raw on Ninja V

Atomos, makers of the increasingly ubiquitous Ninja V, announced that the external recorder and monitor will now allow for the output of ProRes RAW in 4Kp30. This brings the potential video quality of the flagship Nikon mirrorless almost to the level achievable with the very best mirrorless hybrid cameras.

Unlike previous updates for the Z series, this one will not require camera firmware upgrades, and – most critically – won’t require a trip back to Nikon for meddling with the hardware. Simply updating a Ninja V to the latest firmware will do the trick.
