Rumor: Canon To Offer Sub-$1k Flash in ’21

Testing the credulity of Canon shooters, Canon announced the EL-1 flash a couple months ago, to be released sometime in February at a price of about $1,100. But rumors now come from CanonRumors.com that a cheaper model EL-10 will come out in the second half.

The benefit of the EL series is that the new flashes will take advantage of the shorter mirrorless flange-back distances… er, um, no, … that they will exploit the faster camera communication protocols… um, wait, no, that’s Sony… erm, we have no idea.
