Nikon officially removed the D5600 and D3500 from its product list on its Japanese site. Both cameras still appear on the firm’s US site. This sort of change often happens before new models are released, but it is not yet certain if Nikon will be releasing more crop sensor non-mirrorless cameras.
Nikon came out with a new D6 flagship DSLR last year, which was widely seen as a rebadged D5, indicating to some a waning research interest in mirrored cameras. As Nikon has yet to release either a mirrorless Z-mount flagship or entry-level camera, the next moves will very possibly reveal the manufacturer’s emphasized direction.
