Canon Intros Culling App, Rolls out “Phil”

Feb 11, 2021 | Canon, News, Software

Canon released a new app called Photo Culling, using its Photography Intelligence Learning (PHIL) system to judge pictures based on focus, noise, closed eyes and “emotion.”

The program operates in a “whole culling” mode, which searches for what it deems the best pictures in a larger set, or a “similar culling” mode, where it will note the one or two best pictures for each burst.

The app works only on iOS at the moment. It is not findable via the App Store search, but will be made reachable via a Canon link.
