New Firmwares for Sony A7s III and Nikon Z

Feb 25, 2021 | News, Nikon, Software, Sony

Sony released a new firmware update, already up to 2.0, which can be found here. Oddly, the installer doesn’t work with Apple’s recent Big Sur operating system. It adds S-Cinetone picture profile; allows for Steady Shot use during slow motion; and adds the normal unspecified bug fixes.

Nikon released – as it said it would – then version 1.10 for its Z-mount cameras. As expected, the rumor of CFexpress card implementation improvements is absent. Instead, it adds more 4k framerate options in addition to several other video-related minor improvements; and lengthens the distance at which it will be able to pick out eyes on human faces.
