Nikon is calling “old product” some fairly popular F-mount lenses, such as the 16-35 f/4G ED VR, the 28-300, 200mm f/2, 16-80mm f/2.8-4, and 85mm f/3.5 among others. Nikon Rumors has been reporting the slow, inexorable move to shift the F-mount to the “discontinued” section of the website.
Canon has also been discontinuing lenses, but – with one or two exceptions, such as the fan-favorite 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens – after an RF-mount version of the lens has been released.
