Sony is selling sensors to Micro Four Thirds mount camera manufacturers that’ll have stacked layers with backside illumination at 20 megapixels. This is great news for photographers looking for higher quality pixels in the mini mount, but not so great for videographers, who nowadays tend to be buying cameras with video resolutions requiring denser-packed sensors.
The new IMX472-AAJK can read out as fast as 120 frames per second at 12-bit, and 160 times a second at 10-bit.
