Laowa, makers of the Venus line of excellent wide primes and macro lenses named after the goddess of love, is slapping a Pentax K mount on at least one of its popular lenses: the 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift lens. This may portend more expanded mount choices for some of its other lenses.
It would be a natural combination to provide K mount access to some of the firm’s macro and shift lenses because the Pentax K series employs crop sensors, which often are used by people seeking greater reach, which the crop factor provides. Also, the image circle of some of the Laowa lenses would be very excessive relative to the crop sensor, which would allow for greater shift adjustments without experiencing significant vignetting.
