Canon Crop Patents Cause Consternation

Is there going to be a Canon RF crop camera designed for consumer photography? Probably not. But mirrorless crop lens designs will keep coming so long as they own a security camera division. One such design can be seen over at Canon News, showing an 18-45mm f/4-6.3 lens that looks a lot like kit zooms of yore.

Any such design inevitably awakens unrequited desires for more M-mount lenses, the launch of a successor to the 7D Mark II, and eventually, the release of an R-mount crop camera.
