Canon R3 Registration Finally Pops Up

Provided Canon doesn’t have another highest-end body in the offing, we expect the DS126835 model number that just appeared on a radio regulator’s application database (via Nokishita) to be released soon, and for that camera to be revealed as the Canon EOS R3.

Canon has already pre-announced the R3 twice, and then seemed to pull back pre-Olympics release preparations with an announcement that it would concentrate on servicing those sports ‘togs who were traveling to Japan for the events, focusing on “maximum availability.”

Typically, radio frequency regulators publish license application information of new cameras a few weeks before they are made available to the public, but this public release may have been oriented around a now-deferred release date.
