Nikon Z9 Purported to Be 45MP x 30 FPS

A new, rumored, tidbit of spec information arrived at Nikon Rumors, indicating the new Nikon flagship Z9 will have a 45 megapixel sensor. This is the lower end of the rumors, which had variously suggested a 45-, 50-, or 60-megapixel sensor.

The Sony A1 sits around 60 megapixels with that frame rate, and the coming R3 is rumored to have only about 30 megapixels, although Canon has been very deliberately coy with their multiple pre-announcements.

Photographers shooting the R3 with pre-production units have been allowed to talk much about elements already announced, but have been specifically proscribed from indicating any information about resolution or the performance of the R3’s signature feature: the pupil-directed autofocus point selection system.
