Nikon Rumors reports that of the six lenses Nikon has referred to proudly as a “rapid expansion” of its as-yet anemic Z-mount lens system, only one will launch this year.
That lucky lens is the Nikkor Z 400mm f/2.8, just in time for previously targeted for the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
Pros looking to upgrade to the coming Z9 flagship camera will have to make do with the 70-200mm as the longest lens of the bunch.
A 24-105mm; 85mm; 100-400mm; 200-600mm; and a 600mm lens are slated to join the 400mm f/2.8 in the “rapid expansion” campaign that was scheduled initially to conclude in 2022.
