Camera manufacturers – most facing significant parts shortages and customer order backlogs – don’t have a lot of pressure to keep prices low. Canon is going one further and actually boosted prices this morning on some of its most popular items, according to CanonPriceWatch.

Canon also threw in an extra two Ben Franklins for the 5D Mark IV.
The prices are theoretical for some of those lenses, as short supply has left many on wait lists. It has been a while since Canon has run one of its quarters-long discount programs, and some items are usually given the discount treatment as fall moves on toward the holiday season. These price increases could be a wash effect if these same lenses are offered at “$100 off” in a few weeks.
