Canon is trying to set expectations (Japanese) low for people who ordered the Canon EOS R3 flagship-that’s-not-a-flagship camera. What this means, if precedent serves, is that corporate and business customers will likely see orders fulfilled, but amateurs – even those getting on the pre-buy waitlists in the first few minutes – may see months-long delays before their units get shipped.
Online retailers often have a “first-com, first-serve” system of fulfilling orders, but they will often as not segregate lists for corporate purchasers versus everyone else, and their allocations of cameras to non-corporate buyers will be more paltry.
