Sony May Drop Lens March 22

Rumors are picking up that Sony may launch a new E mount lens in two weeks, on March 22.

It has been an awfully long time  – five months – since Sony launched something new. SonyAlphaRumors.com indicates that it expects three major body releases in the second half of the year.

Sony does have a proclivity for making announcements to counter-program competing offerings. With the recent activity in the Nikon and Canon realms regarding sports and supertelephoto lenses, this may be an area of priority, but it does not appear that any source has real information about the nature of this lens or lenses.
