Canon Launches R7, R10 Crop Bodies

May 24, 2022 | Bodies, Canon, News

Canon today released, as expected, the R7 body, bringing the DSLR-era D90 into Canon’s mirrorless, R-Mount era with some featured borrowed from some more recent releases. Particularly, the R7 – marketed as a cheaper sports body – includes in-body image stabilization (IBIS) and a seriously fast electronic shutter.

Canon R7The R10 shaves off features, speed, megapixels, buffer and weather sealing to provide a sub-$1,000 R mount crop body. The R7 will fetch $1,500 and sport 15 frames per second (FPS) mechanical shutter with a 30 FPS electronic version; IBIS; 32.5 megapixels; 4k 60p video; 4k 30p video with over-sampling; a roughly 100-shot buffer; and – importantly – the tracking firmware found in the professional-level cameras.
