Canon is set to release a very small cinema camera – possibly called the C70 – on the 24th via a virtual event (hit the link to register yourself). The text in the teaser indicates there will be a bunch of Q&As, which seems to be the new Canon format for presenting brochure information as interviews. The upshot: the event might take a while. There will also be short film screenings. Pack a lunch.
More interestingly, the picture cloud shown in the release page indicates the camera is designed to fit as a payload for the larger drone tools, like a DJI Matrice shown in one, and the Freefly Alta 8 shown in another – cameras that can take a 6kg payload. Of course, as other images show, the video geeks can quickly manage to lard on many stone more of racks, grips, monitors, batteries and such.
