Canon News: Super-Tele Patents For Everyone

Canon News uncovered a trove of Canon RF-mount lens patent embodiments in the super-telephoto focal length ranges. The back-focus distances specified in at least some of the focal lengths indicate that they appear to be designed for the RF-mount and to accommodate the 38mm space required to fit one of the RF teleconverters.

Below is a picture of the design of the 200mm f/2 version, which – like the old one for DSLRs – appears to be extremely end-heavy.

Also today, rumors surfaced that Tamron may be coming out with a 200mm prime as part of a teased event scheduled for this coming Monday.
