Canon Revs Dev Kits

Apr 2, 2021 | Accessories, Bodies, Canon, News, Software

Canon released new versions of its software development kits (SDKs) and application programming interfaces (APIs). These programming tools are designed for building custom applications for Canon cameras and developing automated systems that can remotely control camera settings. New are interfaces for the new PTZ cameras, IP security cameras and Cinema RAW file conversions.

The SDK can now support MacOS 11 and no longer supports system 10.13 or earlier. Also deprecated is Windows 7.

The news comes hard on an announcement yesterday that the division responsible for custom applications – once a free-standing subsidiary – is losing its independence and being re-ingested back into Canon USA corporate.
